I remember being a very small girl when Dad bought a really neat silver car (this was before the days of Marlin Perkins) and named it the Silver Streak. Apparently Dad really disliked this car, as we only had it for a few short months; and apparently I was enthralled with it because I have only positive memories of this car.
Anyway, to replace the Dot (though she will never be truly "replaced,") I have come in to possession of a 2004 Subaru Outback AWD, and I have christened her the Silver Streak. As Dad says, Joseph and I will now be the poster children of newlyweds everywhere, because, as everyone knows, Outback = camping! Speaking of which, there are tons of really cool Subaru Outback accessories for camping which I will probably be posting as Christmas comes closer.
LOVE THE silver streak! You may not recall that the Silver Buick was a 2 door whose speed-control stuck once when you and I went to visit Uncle Geoff. We had pulled into a toll booth and heard "someone" racing his engine. After tossing in the coins and releasing the brake, we shot out of the starting gate like Neil Armstrong on his way to the moon. I am proud of you for negotiating this major purchase. Can't wait to see it!
ReplyDeleteHey... nice sweater! It looks really good on you and it's making me want it back.
ReplyDeleteWe also have a 2004 Subaru Outback AWD but it is green and doesn't have a cool name. Let's see how many of them we can park in my parent's driveways (wait... what?)!
I've always had a fantasy of owning a full spectrum of colors in a fleet of VW Beetles, but I guess it could work with Subaru Outbacks... Congratulations, Pickle! Safe travels to the Shrader Thanksgiving festivities! We will miss you in Milton, but look forward to Christmas!
